Preventive Dental Care

Our dental exams help us determine your current oral health and identify any potential conditions that require your attention. Drs. Forsberg, Malogan, Street, and Swanberg perform a complete evaluation of your teeth, gums, bite, and jaws and create a comprehensive preventive treatment plan based on your needs.

We look for common conditions such as decay, periodontal (gum) disease, cracked teeth, and wear so that you have the information necessary to make an informed decision about the future of your dental health.

Professional Dental Cleanings

Even if you brush and floss regularly, you will not be able to reach the areas in between your teeth and below your gum line. Regular professional dental cleanings keep those hard-to-reach areas clean and allow us to evaluate the health of your gums. We also give you a dental polish to remove surface stains and tartar.

At each hygiene appointment, we will take measurements of your gums that help us to determine if you have periodontal disease. Because your gums should fit tightly around your teeth and create a seal, we look for areas where pocketing occurs. When you have periodontal pocketing, they can collect food particles and bacteria, which cause infection. Ultimately, gum disease puts your oral health and your overall health at risk.

Our hygienists are extremely gentle and thorough. They will work with you on treatment and home care techniques that can help eliminate your infection.
